Vince Vaughn, Lady Gaga and about 20 CONLON/Christie’s International Real Estate brokers and executives.
Those were among the 4,500 hearty souls who dove into the icy waters of Lake Michigan on Sunday. Insanity? Perhaps.
But there was a method to the madness.
The 15th Annual Chicago Polar Plunge, at North Avenue Beach, raised $1.1 million for the Special Olympics, the most in its history, according to the Chicago Tribune.
This is the second year CONLON/Christie’s participated. “It was cold but it was fun,” says CONLON/Christie’s Principal Tim Sheahan.
In all, CONLON/Christie’s raised more than $10,000.
The CONLON/Christie’s team included Benjie Burford; Drussy Hernandez; Melissa Archer-Wirtz; Anne Kavanaugh; Bridget Sheahan; Melissa Concepcion; Ellen Ness; Tim Knipper; Kevin Cibula; Dan Sullivan; David Funcheon; Zach Koran; Lisa Franqui; Fiona Conlon; Valerie Sancrainte; Rene Dombrowski; and Zach Koran.
The firm’s Rich Kasper and his daughter, Kylie Cunningham-Kasper, and Tim Sheahan and his daughter Morgan, also took the plunge, as did Vaughn, of “Wedding Crashers” fame, mayoral candidate Jesus “Chuy” Garcia, and singer Lady Gaga and her finance, the actor Taylor Kinney.

Founded in 2009, Chicago-based CONLON has quickly become one of the city’s leading real estate firms with about 200 agents and offices in the West Loop, Lincoln Park, Roscoe Village, Hinsdale and Winnetka. Since June 2013 it has been the exclusive local affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate, bringing a more national and global reach to CONLON so they may better serve their clients.
